Tenganan village, Bali - Geringsing (double ikat) Bali's rarest textiles
Rembat at work, spinning cotton yarn. Rembat is about 95 years old and the only living man in Tenganan who still knows the whole double-ikat process. He learned weaving from his mother so he could make his own clothing after the Japanese invaded the island. After the invasion, everything was rare and expensive.
